Who we are

The Department forensic psychiatry and psychotherapy I consists of six stations located at the Porz site.

The department treats only male patients who are accommodated in accordance with § 63 StGB. The focus is on the treatment of psychosis, personality disorders or intelligence impairments. The exact diagnosis, the acute treatment of the underlying disease, the longer-term therapeutic support in risk mitigation measures and the establishment of socially competent behaviors, with particular attention to safety requirements, are the therapeutic priorities.

LVR-Klinik Köln is a specialist hospital for psychiatry and psychotherapy with two departments for psychiatry and psychotherapy, a Department for Gerontopsychiatry, a Department of Dependency Diseases, a Department of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotraumatology and two Departments for Forensic Psychiatry. The supply order includes about 600,000 Cologne citizens. In addition to the main location in Cologne-Merheim, there are Dependances with daily clinical and outpatient offers in three other districts on the right and left Rhine.
