For our laboratory in sequencing, we are looking for a

Head of Laboratory Operations (m/w/d) Place of work: Leipzig

Strategic direction: They run the laboratory operation with focus on next generation sequencing (NGS) and Sanger technologies, in close coordination with the management to ensure performance and quality.

Process optimization: They develop standardized processes (SOPs), identify potential savings and raise synergies between our laboratories for maximum efficiency.

Employee development: They promote the growth of teams (e.g. Assistant Manager NGS, Team Lead BI, Team Lead NGS Development) through targeted coaching and people development measures.

Performance tracking and quality management: They use KPIs and IT tools to optimize operation data-based and support certifications (e.g. DIN ISO 9001, preparation for DIN ISO 17025).

Cost Monitoring: You monitor material costs and coordinate the procurement of equipment, consumables and reagents.

Audits and Process Development: They prepare internal and external audits and drive the expansion of the product portfolio through upscaling and automation.

International coordination: They work with our locations in the UK, USA, Japan and China to drive global standards and innovations.

Leadership competence: Detectable experience in managing teams with at least 30 people, ideally in a scientific or technical environment.

Scientific background: Complete study in biotechnology, molecular biology or comparable; specific NGS knowledge is not required.

Language knowledge: German and English flowing for effective national and international communication.

Analytical skills: Strong competence in the business analysis of data, documentation and processes, as well as a look for optimization potentials in the daily operation of our laboratories.

IT Affinity: Secure handling of MS Office (especially Excel) and performance tracking tools; Knowledge of Lean Management is beneficial.
