We are looking for a system administrator*in data backup (m/w/div) for the Common Data Center area at the next possible time Location: Berlin or Würzburg Date of entry: Immediate Application deadline: 30.12.2025 Call number: 09-087-2025 Employment: Full time (part time is possible in principle) Remuneration: E10 TV EntgO-DRV We are the joint data center of German pension insurance at the locations Berlin and Würzburg. We stand for a safe and performant operation of the infrastructure, the fulfillment of the relevant legal standards, the feasibility of costs, for economic efficiency and IT consulting. The basic infrastructure area is responsible for the SAN incl. Storage, mainframe, RZ hosting and backup. The main task of our data protection team is to secure the user and process data of all German pension insurance companies. You monitor our soft and hardware that is required for data backup with the help of our monitoring software: CheckMK and Grafana, as well as self-developed tools You are dealing with the distribution of data backup agents for Linux and Windows operating systems Testing and troubleshooting (simple to medium difficulty) of the soft and hardware in the data backup environment Documentation of IT operations in Confluence (Update of manuals, for example for backup of data) Processing of client requests by Jira (for example backup and recovery requests) Implementation and control of IT security measures (BSI compliant work) Your range of tasks also includes cooperation in IT projects (cooperation with the introduction of new IT technologies, participation in the development of new backup strategies) As part of the above-described tasks, you participate in the call readiness (alarming via telephone, SMS, messaging) Due to the cross-site work, occasional, planned service trips (three to four times a year) within Germany are necessary.

You have either a successfully completed higher education (Bachelor/Diplom/FH) in the field of IT or a successful completion of a comparable IT qualification or a successful completion of a vocational training in the IT field or comparable practical experience in the IT field You have current and multi-year professional experience in IT You will see an exciting topic in data backup and want to develop in a targeted way You bring sound knowledge and experience in Linux operating system Knowledge of the IT systems Cohesity NetBackup and their storage systems Cohesity Flex Appliance are advantageous ideally bring first knowledge from the following technologies: VMware OpenShift (Kubernetes) S3 Storage Grafana
