Number: MER0003VWA The RD/KSR department is responsible for the passive safety of Mercedes-Benz vehicles of the S-, E-, C-Class, Roadster and AMG series. Our aim is to provide a maximum level of passenger protection. In addition to a vehicle body with a design-proof passenger cell and defined crumb zones, the basis for this is also the development of state-of-the-art passenger restraint systems. In addition to the functional responsibility of passive safety in the entire vehicle, the “Passive Safety & Retaining Systems AMG” team also has component responsibility for the airbag and safety belt components and tunes these restraint system components to the best possible occupant protection in the overall system. This includes cooperation and coordination with: Raw structural development using the CAE calculation Development of airbags, safety belts and belt locks incl. fulfillment of all qualifications with the component supplier Planning and implementation of vehicle crash tests Analysis of sled/crash tests These challenges come to you: Support in project management with regard to the development of the airbag and safety belt component with the system supplier in Germany and abroad and in general in project work with the specialist areas involved Cooperation in the planning, supervision and evaluation of development experiments Participation in series projects and in the preparation of benchmark investigations in the field of restraint systems (Airbag and safety belt components) The activity can begin from March 2026. The duration of the internship is 6 months.
