Our city trees are lively companions through Freiburg – You donate shadows, shape the cityscape and contribute to a good climate. To keep them healthy and safe, we need you! If you enjoy outdoor work and want to take responsibility for nature and people, you are right with us. You carry out visual inspections and risk assessments on urban trees – based on the FLL guidelines for tree control – and thus assess their stability and fracture safety. You take appropriate measures to prevent hazards and lay down necessary care measures – always with the aim of sustaining the preservation of trees. You document your control and investigation results digitally and if necessary analogue. For this, you work with mobile detection devices and the program MQ (IP-Syscon). You carry out special and individual inspections, carry out in-depth investigations of drilling resistance measurements and deal with damages related to trees.

You have a completed training as a gardenerin (probably in the fields of nursery, garden and landscape construction), as a foresterin or a comparable qualification. Ideally, you have the class B driving licence and have an additional training as a specialist farmerin, nursein or European Tree Worker or a certification as a tree controllerin to FLL or VTA. Professional experience as a tree controllerin, tree nurse*in as well as experience in performing cutting work on trees and in dealing with digital tree catastrophes is advantageous You will have basic knowledge of mechanics and wood properties as well as knowledge of tree damage and tree diseases (VTA method). You have a structured and independent way of working as well as secure computer skills.
