At the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Medical Technology and Computer Science (EMI), the following professorship from the summer semester 2027 is to be occupied in the field of applied artificial intelligence: W2-Professorship for Applied Artificial Intelligence (code 68)

Own-sponsored design of courses in our AI-related Bachelor and Master's degree programs, in particular for the listed focus areas and in the basic training of AI and computer science. Good AI infrastructure, such as Colab licenses for teaching or GPU clusters. The further development, the construction and support of specialist laboratories in close coordination with your colleagues. The possibility of developing its own research area and participating in application-related research and development projects. Many design freedoms in your professorship and in interdisciplinary and cross-faculty cooperation.

You bring scientific and well-founded knowledge as well as extensive practical experience and expertise to convey the following priorities in the field of applied artificial intelligence with Data Engineering, Data Management, MLOps, AI system architecture, Reinforcement Learning, Deep Learning or AI applications. Ideally, you also have comprehensive expertise in the practical application of AI, for example in robotics, medical technology, automation, autonomous driving, commerce or in business applications. We have to special capacity for scientific work. These have been obtained by a very good promotion or equivalent services. relevant full-time practical experience of at least 5 years after your university degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Natural Sciences and Engineering with reference to Artificial Intelligence. You worked for at least 3 years outside the university. Ability to inspire students with their teaching for artificial intelligence and to promote young scientists. With your teaching skills, your pedagogical suitability and gender- and diversity-sensitive teaching approaches, you are convinced. Good English language skills allow you to offer courses also in English. Willingness to contribute to the strategic development of HSO in higher education bodies and the self-government of the university. Ability to work intensively with partners in the university as well as regional actors from business and society in research and transfer.
