Export Control Manager (m/f/d)

You are responsible for the further development of the export control organisation of the University Hospital Cologne and its associated units. You develop, implement and maintain guidelines, processes and controls to ensure compliance with all relevant external economic and export control regulations (especially EU and German external economic law). You examine and evaluate export control-relevant processes, in particular product classification, end-of-life, critical cooperations and international research and supply relations, and release these independently. You are central to all export control issues in the Group and work closely with the subject areas (including purchasing, finance, research, IT, medical faculty). You identify export control risks, derive appropriate prevention and remedy measures and develop processes for the continuous improvement of the export control organisation. You design and coordinate training for employees and executives on export control obligations and processes and promote a lived export control and compliance culture. In addition, you support the Compliance Department in the processing of general compliance cases outside the export control (e.g. internal notifications, audits of policies and contracts, as well as clarification of regulatory violations).

Successfully completed studies, preferably in the field of law, economy, foreign trade / international trade, healthcare or a comparable subject. Basic legal understanding, ideally with a focus on external economics or Export control law, as well as first experience in testing and evaluating export control-relevant transactions and contracts. Professional experience in the field of export control / external economic law desirable, ideally in health care or in another regulated industry. knowledge of relevant export control regulations and regulatory requirements; appropriate further developments (e.g. external economic law, EU dual-use regulation) are advantageous. Analytical and strategic thinking skills, team skills and a structured and careful way of working. Embossed communication skills, enforcement strength and team orientation. High responsibility and interest in continuous professional development in the field of export control and compliance.
