Senior Physician - Neonatology and Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine (m/f/d)

At the University Hospital for Children's and Youth Medicine in the Children's Centre Bethel we are looking for an OBERÄRZTIN/OBERARZT (m/w/d) for the Department of Neonatology and Paediatric Intensive Care.

The Children's Centre Bethel consists of the University Hospitals for Children's and Youth Medicine, for Children's Surgery, for Children's and Youth Psychiatry, the Department for Children's Radiology and Interdisciplinary Emergency Medicine and is one of the major institutions of this type in Germany. We provide all acute and chronic illnesses in childhood and youth, including over 10,000 fully-stationary patients per year, 3,000 partially-stationary patients, over 20,000 patients in special ambulances and over 20,000 emergency patients.

The Department of Neonatology and Paediatric Intensive Medicine has 14 respiration places for neonates in the Perinatal Center Level 1 (NICU, annually about 70 VLBW), 10 respiration places for larger children (PICU, annually about 500 Pat) and 32 treatment places on the aftercare station with its own background service.

An important focus is the support of a large number of children with home reunifications throughout East Westphalia, as well as the close cooperation with the SAPPV team based here in Kinderhospic.

The Department of Neonatology and Paediatric Intensive Medicine provides the whole range of pediatrics in close cooperation with all other departments and areas of the children's clinic. In the field of children's cardiology, children with heart disease are treated in close cooperation with the heart centre in Bad Oeynhausen. In the fields of pneumology and gastroenterology, approx. 600 endoscopy, lung function and spiro ergometry are held. The Department of Children's Oncology is certified according to DKG and provides approx. 70 new oncological diseases. In cooperation with the Department of Neuropaediatrics, supra-regional children with multiple disabilities are supervised. The children's radiology has the most modern equipment incl. Child MRI. The full training authorization for all these areas is available. There is also close cooperation with the surgical clinics at the home: child surgery, neurosurgery, epilepsy surgery, thorax surgery, trauma surgery, ophthalmology, oral-kiefer-face surgery and HNO-Heilkunde.

REQUIREMENTS

• They treat newborns, children and youth in all areas of the department.
• They actively contribute to the design and development of the department and the clinic.
• They work in a multidisciplinary and interprofessional team on a complex range of treatments according to current knowledge.
• They participate in the student teaching of the Faculty of Medicine OWL of Bielefeld University.
• They participate in the department's research.

PROFIL

• You have the German Approbation as a doctor or doctor (m/w/d) and the medical certificate for children and youth medicine.
• They have the focus on neonatology and additional name (Pediatric) intensive care and have sufficient experience in these subjects in order to work in a large children's centre.
• They have a high level of social competence, self-initiative, self-employment and communication competence.
• They are characterized by their pronounced empathy and patient orientation.
