Marine ships are highly complex systems with life cycles of 30 years and more. Decisions on maintenance, spare parts strategy and logistics have an impact on costs, readiness to use and fleet availability for decades. We are looking for a senior data scientist / analyst who supports these decisions based on data. In this role you develop analyses, models and simulations to Understanding life cycle costs, optimizing spare part strategies and maximising the availability of complex systems. You work at the interface of construction, logistics and data science and use modern analysis and simulation tools - in particular OPUS Suite - to get from technical data to develop resilient decision bases. If you are happy to model complex systems, translate data into strategic insights and have real impact on long-term programs, then this role is for you. Your tasks - versatile and forward-looking: You analyse large quantities of operating, maintenance and logistics data and carry out evaluations on reliability, maintenance strategies, spare parts requirements and life cycle costs (Life Cycle Costing) for naval vessels and their subsystems. In addition, you evaluate the impact of technical and logistical decisions over the entire system life cycle. You analyze and optimize spare parts and supply strategies You build simulation models in OPUS Suite and ensure that You are always further developed. In your role, you always work closely with the design and the project teams.

Complete technical studies, e.g. (engineering, data science, mathematics or comparable) Multiannual experience in data analysis, simulation or modeling of complex technical systems Experience with lifecycle analyses, reliability engineering or logistical simulation Ideally experience with OPUS Suite or comparable simulation tools Experience with data analysis tools or programming languages such as Python or similar environments Understanding maintenance strategies, spare parts management and system availability desirable Ideally experience in maritime systems, shipbuilding or defence projects Very good communication skills in German and English Willingness to travel between Hamburg and Bremen (approx. 20%)
