In our facility for unaccompanied minor asylum seekers (UMA), we accompany young people in the sensitive transition phase of their arrival. As an educational specialist in our institution in Dortmund, you actively shape the everyday life of the young people, promote their personal development and support them in the challenges of arriving.

Support for young people in everyday life (e.g. accompaniment for appointments, guidance for domestic activities). Implementation of group and individual talks and crisis interventions. Designing leisure and group activities. Ensuring order and structure in the everyday life of young people. Close cooperation with youth offices, premiers and other cooperation partners.

A completed training (e.g. educators:in, nurses:in) or a study in the social field (e.g. social education, education, social work, medical education). Empathy, intercultural competence and the ability to act sovereignly in crisis situations. Joy in working with young people and the willingness to actively support them in everyday life. Empathy, reliability and openness to other cultures.
