Chief Physician and Deputy Head of Forensic Psychiatric Care (m/f/d)

For the Center for Forensic Psychiatry of Lower Bavaria at the Mainkofen and Straubing sites, we are looking to complete our team on 01.10.2026 or later one/n Senior Consultant (m/w/d)

in full time or part-time. As of May 1, 2026, the newly founded Centre for Forensic Psychiatry of Lower Bavaria officially started its work. It consists of the former independent clinics of the BKH Straubing and the Forensic Clinic of the BKH Mainkofen. In addition, forensic outpatient clinics for aftercare and at the Mainkofen site are integrated into a prevention centre. Overall, the center has 382 flat beds. Patients who are accommodated in accordance with §§ 63 and § 64 StGB and § 126a StPO are treated at both locations. The re-establishment of the Centre for Forensic Psychiatry aims, among other things, to create new focal areas and therapeutic offers by the merger of two Forensic Clinics. This also includes the compilation of a team that consists of chief physicians in the management level, who work across locations in both clinics. To complete the team, we are looking for a person who is primarily responsible at both locations for the treatment of patients accommodated in accordance with § 63 StGB. Due to the recently established centre, there is the possibility to introduce itself more creatively and innovatively than is the case in established structures.
