Vice President R&D (m/f/d)

Our client is a medium-sized technology leader based in the triangle D/CH/F. The company employs several hundred employees and operates internationally. In the course of a modernization and transformation, the company wants to establish itself in a future-oriented and efficient manner, as well as further develop its innovative competence and competitiveness. To achieve these goals and the desired growth, we are looking for an entrepreneurial thinking personality as Vice President R&D (m/w/d).

In the role of Vice President R&D, you are a member of the expanded management, report directly to the CEO and are responsible for the strategic orientation and further development of the global product portfolio and the company’s innovation roadmap. Together with your team, you are responsible for the entire development process, from prototype development to series production. You implement structures, KPIs and a transparent reporting system to increase efficiency in product development and to reduce cost-to-market sustainably. You work closely with the interfaces product management, marketing, production, quality and sales to understand market requirements and customer needs as well. On this basis, you will develop existing products and identify innovation potentials for the development of new products. To ensure efficient product development, modification and care, continue to expand the company's competences, ensure comprehensive product documentation and support in product testing, approval and certification. Another task is to cooperate with external partners, key customers, partner companies and university institutions to take into account current technologies and trends in material and sustainability in product development and to ensure the company's competitiveness.

Based on a technical study of electrical engineering or physics, you have several years of leadership experience in the field of technology and development of a manufacturing company of the electrical engineering industry (ideally in medium and low voltage). You bring very good knowledge in the development and implementation of R&D and product and technology strategies and are well familiar with current trends, methods and tools of product development. In addition, you have well-founded experience in project management, product lifecycle management, product development and process optimization to increase efficiency within R&D and reduce time-to-market sustainably. As an innovative and decision-making manager with a strong entrepreneurial perspective, you can identify innovation potentials, formulate goals and manage the necessary measures to ensure the company's competitiveness. You have a conceptual, methodical and structured working style and bring a high self-motivation to build and develop something. A team-oriented leadership style, very good communicative skills as well as a high interface affinity belong to your strengths as well as very good German and English skills.
