Commissioning Specialist

Heat and energy are our contribution to the quality of life – every day new. As BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH we supply the capital with electricity and heat in a climate-friendly manner. Our district heating network is the largest Western Europe with a length of more than 2,000 kilometres. We supply about one third of the Berlin households with heat. With the know-how of our 2,300 employees, we cover the entire value chain of district heating – from production to grid operation and expansion to distribution. At high pressure, we work at the coal exit until 2030 and at climate-neutral production from 2045. In this way, we support the Land of Berlin significantly when reaching its climate targets. On the way to this we want to realize a higher proportion of renewable energies and waste heat. To do this, we need to redesign many of our sites and facilities. For the BEW Berliner Energie und Wärme GmbH, we are looking for you as a start-up specialist at the Berlin site in an indefinite position.

Your tasks You are responsible for the factory-specific (400V - 110kV) coordination of all commissioning activities at a power plant location where, in parallel to the operation of existing plants, a new portfolio of new electricity and heat generation plants, including the associated electrical and district heating infrastructure, is successively commissioned. You plan, coordinate and organize the commissioning processes, tests, measurements and test operating phases and accompany the plant sample operation. You coordinate the commissioning teams of the contractors in which the responsibility is to commission the individual plants. You control a team from external service teams. You design and work out client standards on commissioning activities (methods, processes, tools). You support the HSE Manager in compliance with the PTW procedure (Permit to Work), and ensure compliance with Health Safety and Environment HSE requirements (safety checks before commissioning pre-start-up security reviews PSSRS,...). You will ensure the professional acceptance, documentation/certification of the contractually agreed disciplinary commissioning checks and proof of the characteristics. You ensure efficient communication and coordination with all relevant stakeholders. You coordinate the training of personnel in close cooperation with the operation and maintenance. You will start the monthly report regarding the status of commissioning and risks. You participate in the structuring, coordination, implementation and monitoring of the transfer process to the later operator.

Your profile Complete study of electrical engineering or a comparable technical degree course (required) Very good knowledge of German and good knowledge of English (required) Multiannual experience in the planning and/or commissioning of electrical installations – ideally in the fields of energy management, infrastructure or plant engineering Safe understanding of legal, regulatory and normative requirements Knowledge of contract management and occupational safety Experience in interdisciplinary work and dealing with different stakeholders Personally, you are convinced by your own initiative, team orientation, communication strength, analytical thinking and sense of responsibility – especially for health and safety at work You meet about 70 percent of the requirements?
