Research Associate/Doctoral Candidate/PhD Student, PSM (m/f/d)

The independent area for psychosocial medicine and development neuroscience (PSM) is part of the Centre for Mental Health and both in research, teaching and patient care. In this way, we ensure the training of students in the field of medical psychology and medical sociology at the Faculty of Medicine and research on topics related to the neuroscientific foundations of human experience and behavior in the context of illness and health. The position is located in the research group Applied Developmental Neurosciences (Head: Prof. Dr. med. Stefan Ehrlich, PhD). The group focuses mainly on eating disorders and affective disorders, in close cooperation with the partner clinics in the Centre for Mental Health at the UKD. A broad, multimethodic approach is followed which comprises, in particular, imaging methods (MRT, fMRT, MRS), experimental and cognition-psychological, psychophysiological (eye tracking), immunological and endocrinological methods and the digital phenotyping (among others ecological momentary assessment). The main objective is translational research, which seeks to transfer research results as quickly as possible to improve diagnostics and therapy. When you adopt the position, you will be active in the research projects “Neuroimaging Study of Anorexia Nervosa and Factors Affecting Clinical Outcomes” as well as “Advancing Personalised Medicine via Companion Biomarker Targets”. If desired, participation in events of and an association with graduate programs (SFB 393, IRTG 2773) is also possible. Ideally, the job is to be used as a doctorate.

Complete university studies in psychology, cognitive and/or affective neuroscience, psychiatry, possibly also related fields Knowledge and experience related to scientific work in the neurosciences, e.g. in statistical procedures; possibly first efforts to scientific publications as a first or co-author Knowledge of Clinical Neuroscience and Medical Psychology Basic knowledge of programming (e.g. Linux/Unix shell scripting, Python or MATLAB) and/or experience in the analysis of imaging data (FSL, SPM, FreeSurfer or comparable) Very good knowledge of German and English Knowledge of statistical or mathematical methods of data analysis

At the next time in part-time, the place is to be fixed for up to 26 hours per week for up to 36 months with an extension prospect.
