Field of activity

The family consultancy office offers psychological and educational advice for educators, children, young people and young adults up to the age of 27. The offer includes individual case advice, preventive offers and group offers for children, young people and educators. Advice focuses on education issues, questions on the development and behaviour of children and adolescents, family crises and conflicts, partnership, separation and divorce, as well as questions on the right of custody and handling. Advice is evaluated, resource-oriented and, if necessary, in cooperation with network partners of child and youth assistance.

The main content of the professional recognition year: In the course of the professional recognition year, the application in the field of education counselling is carried out according to § 28 SGB VIII. Basic competences of action as well as socio-pedagogical forms of work and methods in the fields of counselling, child protection, solution, resource and social space orientation, empowerment and legal knowledge are imparted. The contents of the professional recognition year include:

integrating into the field of education counselling, taking into account legal, organisational and institutional frameworks, as well as educational and psychological foundations, deepening and applying counselling methods and professional procedures in counselling, contribute to documentation, evaluation and statistical collection of consultancy processes, acquisition and further development of consultant and methodological skills for the preparation and implementation of initial and consulting discussions under technical guidance; Pre- and post-processing as well as hospitation in consultations with children, young people, guardians and families, cooperation in the planning, organisation and implementation of events, projects and prevention offers for different target groups, knowledge of the social area and participation in cooperation with cooperation and network partners, participation in meetings, team meetings, collegial case meetings and risk assessments; Participation in conferences, crisis interventions, supervisions as well as further and further training offers.
