Engineering Internship in Process Development for Robotics, Computer-Assisted Surgery and Electromechanical Instruments - Mechanical Engineering / Computer Science / Medical Technology (6 months | Sept/Oct 2026)

You support our Advanced Operations department in new development or Optimization of manufacturing or production processes and work on international and cross-sector projects. The following up-to-date projects in the field of computer-assisted surgery and robotics are available: process development for reprocessable and once usable navigated instruments as well as process development for innovative computer platforms and application software. Within the projects mentioned, you take individual task packages of different sizes and thus support the process engineers in the diverse AO tasks that arise within the project everyday. This may include, for example, the execution of tests in the context of the cause analysis and solution of technical problems or in the context of the introduction of a new or alternative manufacturing or logistics process for the optimization of existing processes. You will find yourself at the central interface between various business areas and get comprehensive insights into the product development, production and quality departments. Insights into the qualification of plants and the validation of manufacturing processes and computer systems are also possible. For larger task packages, you will set up a project plan that will help you control your project and ultimately complete it.

You study engineering with the field of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, medical technology, production engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronics, or are enrolled in a similar course. Your strong interest in manufacturing issues will enable you to deal with complex technical problems. Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing allow you to communicate easily and safely in our international environment. You could already gain first experience in the form of internships and ideally an already completed technical training. Knowledge of design with CAD programs is a plus. It's fun to develop solutions independently and it's easy for you to interact in the team and beyond team boundaries. A high self-initiative, openness and communication skills complete your profile.
