Business Architect for the Business Area Analytics & Simulation (m/w/d)

As a primary digitization partner of the Bundeswehr, we provide stable, safe and efficient IT services in Germany and abroad, from basic operations to the field close to the application and thus contribute to the continuous increase in the leadership and operational capacity of the Bundeswehr. Business Architect for the Analytics & Simulation business segment (m/w/d) from 01.07.2025 and full-time at one of our BWI locations. In the field of Analytics & Simulation (A&S), we develop and operate IT for the Bundeswehr, which is required for the collection, analysis, compilation and use of data to achieve information dominance and superior decision speed. As a Business Architect, you are responsible for the strategic development of the A&S business segment. In A&S, we develop innovative solutions for digital transformation for and with our customer Bundeswehr. On the one hand, the focus is on big data processes and on the other hand increasingly also on the use of artificial intelligence, in particular generic AI.

Responsibility for recognizing, understanding, structuring and evaluating customer needs and requirements

Central response for the customer for A&S solutions in all phases

Conception of solutions in cooperation with the IT architects from different disciplines

Responsibility for creating offers for implementation

Technical coordination of BWI internal services/service units for the implementation of A&S solutions together with project management

Responsibility for the strategic design of the A&S roadmap, the assessment of new technological solutions/applications and the management and coordination of new strategic topics

Active management of dependencies and changes and support for risk management

Working in interdisciplinary, cross-service teams and working groups with the Bundeswehr

A completed study or comparable training and at least 6 years relevant professional experience as an IT architect / IT consultant with a focus on data science with focus on AI

Experience in the field of IT architecture management in complex projects as well as technology-wide IT skills in the field of A&S (e.g. in the development and use of cloud architecture, big data technologies, artificial intelligence)

Deep understanding of cloud and database architectures, data analytics, data engineering, generic AI, AI frameworks and libraries

Experience in public administration and motivation to engage in the field of federal defence, defence and public security

Embossed, level communication skills

Structured and analytical methods

High level of sense of responsibility, customer and service-oriented thinking and team-oriented action

Very good German knowledge
