The research project SHIELD is a cooperation project between TIB, Safeguarding Research and Culture (SRC) and Data Rescue Project (DRP). The aim of the project is to build a sustainable, decentralized and openly connected infrastructure for long-term protection and resilience of endangered scientific and technological research data sets, in particular those of central importance for European research. Here, a TIB-operated entity of SciOp (using BitTorrent) and the infrastructure for digital long-term archiving of TIB are used to a high degree. As a Data Engineer/Research Data Manager, you are mainly responsible for the systematic data acquisition of selected sources (including web scraping), checking the licensing of secured data, as well as the structured description and import of data in TIB systems such as long-term archiving and SciOp. You will be in close coordination with actors:in US research authorities as well as potential data users:in the context of national research data infrastructures (NFDIs), needs and possibilities of data backup. With high self-responsibility, you can use your skills in handling large and complex data sets. You can coordinate with the Research Data Services, long-term archiving and the TIB judiciary. In addition, give helpful feedback on the operation and further development of SciOp at TIB. Completed academic studies (master or equivalent), preferably in a relevant scientific study programme (e.g. Information Science, Information Management, Data Science Independent, targeted operation Proven experience in project work Very good language skills in English in word and writing Good communication skills and negotiation skills Required qualifications Experiences with web scraping, processing/cleaning of large data sets and/or scripting/automating Knowledge in the field of digital long-term archiving Knowledge in the field of open licenses and FAIRes research data management Good language skills in German
