Number: MER00045BW The PIONEERING NeXt department supports the specialist areas in ensuring the technology and innovation leadership of Mercedes-Benz. The Startup & Academic Partnerships team forms the bridge between the external global innovation/academic ecosystems and the internal R&D (Research & Development) disciplines. With our ACADEMICompass we find new technologies and use cases through the scouting of external innovation and academic partners and enable early evaluation by means of cooperations and pilot projects. In our team, you will get the opportunity to edit topics with high responsibility and gain comprehensive insight into the strategic topics of our research and development. These challenges include: Exchange with the internal disciplines for defining innovation requirements

deriving appropriate cooperation models

Innovation Scouting and Evaluation of Innovation/Academic Partners

Start-up of joint projects

Processing and presentation of information for internal and external management

Support in the design, construction and operation of the internal know-how platform/tools

Examination and pilot implementation of suitable AI tools for application

The activity can begin from September 2026.

Course in Technical Studies, Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics or a comparable course of study

Secure handling of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint

Secure knowledge of English and German in word and writing

Analytical Conceptual Skills, Communications and Team Skills, Responsibility, Own Initiative

Enthusiasm and ability to work quickly into new topics

First practical experiences and stay abroad are advantageous

Commitment and team skills

Analytical thinking and strategic working
