Senior Software Developer Java (Home Office)

Where to pack • Our existing and new software applications are developed and maintained by you in close cooperation with our team of software developers and testers. • You are heavily involved in the development of software architectures for new products and are analysing and optimizing already existing products. • Furthermore, you develop and develop component and integrate it into our overall architecture. If you like, you can also be there from the start and join us in the entire product development cycle, including direct communication with our customers. • As an experienced software developer, you participate in regular code reviews and best practice meetings and take over the mentoring of even inexperienced colleagues. • If you like, you can also take on additional tasks as a product manager for a specific product or project and look beyond the edge of the plate. • This position can be 100% exercised from the home office. So you don't have to live in Thuringia or the surrounding area to work with us, but you can determine when you want to work. • A part-time job is not a problem for us, but it would be ideal if you can sacrifice at least 30 hours of your time per week for us.

What you should bring • You have a degree in computer science/mathematics or a corresponding vocational training in the IT field. • You’ve collected several years of professional experience (>5) in Java/C++ software development and are keen to deepen your knowledge in exciting projects and pass on to the next generation of developers. • As a rounding of your professional profile, you will have the following knowledge and experience in the best case: • Very good knowledge of server development and relational databases (PostgreSQL) • Funded knowledge of Unix/Linux systems to use operating system-related functions • Very good knowledge of Java Frameworks Spring, Hibernate, API development and documentation for connecting our web frontends and clients (REST) • Experience with Gradle/Maven, git and CI/CD • Virtualization and Container (Docker) • Experience with profilers at runtime and resource analysis (optional) • Your first experience with agentic software development (e.g. CLI-based AI programming via Claude Code / Codex) or in the area of Vibecoding can be applied practically to us. • In order to be able to get a grip on us, it is imperative that you master German at least on C1 level. • And not to forget: We like ourselves here, so we are looking for team players... And many freedoms need a pronounced hand-on mentality.
