Head of Staff Unit Management of Cross-Sectional Tasks in Water Management (m/f/d)

For the Basics and Development Business Unit, we are looking at the Essen site for the next possible term in an indefinite setting of a staff office (m/w/d) Leadership of a 13-member team as well as control of interdisciplinary matrix teams in the area of approval, promotion and project management Strategic and forward-looking further development of the staff unit including target definition in permit and promotion management as well as impulse for overarching topics of the business unit Coordination of the implementation of national agreements with the State of NRW on the development of Lippe and Emscher Optimization and digitization of processes in permit and support management as well as in project management taking into account innovation, environmental and quality management as well as cost-effectiveness Responsibility for budget management, efficient processes and strategic capacity and deployment planning to ensure target achievement

Complete university degree (Master, Diploma or Doctorate) in settlement water management, environmental sciences, landscape architecture/planning, biology or comparable disciplines as well as multiannual leadership experience Long-standing professional experience in strategic water planning using innovative methods, models and software Very good knowledge of water law, settlement dewatering and water management and relevant technical regulations Comprehensive experience in the acquisition and control of research and innovation projects and in the development of scientific and technical standards Extensive coordination and moderation capability, interdisciplinary thinking, high readiness for change and very good English knowledge in word and writing
