Our client is a globally active technology company in plant engineering and specializes in automation, drive and digitization solutions for the metal industry. At the newly established location in the Ruhr region, in the heart of the European steel region, a powerful engineering team is currently being created, which technically prepares and implements modernization and automation projects for well-known industrial customers. The location in the heart of the Ruhr region continues to grow and links short decision-making paths with the stability of an internationally successful group environment.

For further reinforcement, a technically versed personality is now sought, which as Application Engineer (m/w/d) assumes a central role in the supply and design phase of automation projects. In this position you are the interface between technology, sales and project processing: You analyse customer requirements, develop technical solutions and lead them up to the ready-to- offer. You work closely with the project managers and engineering teams and actively contribute your technical know-how to modernization, upgrade and after-sales projects.

The role is deliberately technically shaped and goes well beyond a pure supply creation. An application engineer, who understands systems, penetrates technical relationships and pragmatically tailors solutions to the customer. At the same time, the position offers the opportunity to develop professionally and to take over additional responsibility in the project environment.

Technical preparation of offers for automation and modernization projects in the plant and process automation environment Analysis of customer requirements and technical clarification of specifications, tenders and project requests Development of suitable automation concepts (e.g. switching systems, drive technology, control systems and control systems) up to the range Creation of technical calculations and supply texts in close coordination with internal disciplines Technical contact for customers in the supply and design phase Close cooperation with project managers, engineering teams and other primetal locations Collection and technical evaluation of supplier offers Participation in projects after receipt of orders, e.g. by technical rough planning or advisory support in detail planning After-sales collaboration with focus on modernization, upgrades and technical improvements of existing systems Perspective: Takeover of smaller projects or additional responsibility – depending on experience and interest

Complete studies in electrical engineering, automation technology or comparable Funded technical understanding in automation technology (e.g. switching systems, drive technology, control and control systems) Experience in the technical development of offers, concept development or in the engineering environment (e.g. electrical construction, automation) Joy in the technical clarification of customer requirements and the development of practical solutions A structured, analytical method and a good technical understanding Communication strength and team capacity in exchange with customers and internal departments own initiative, pragmatism and the willingness to develop professionally Moderate travel readiness in the region and driving licence class B German and English skills
