Number: MER0003Y64 The Untertürkheim plant is home to the Mercedes-Benz car engines, axes and gearboxes and their production. The department NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) Drive Systems is concerned with the development and testing of new technologies and concepts for optimizing the acoustics of the drive trains of all car series. In the early development phase, modelling using CAE (Computer-Aided Engineering) software is essential. The simulation models allow the body and airborne sound to be predicted and thus evaluated. With your internship at the CAE NVH Powertrain team, you can help us develop and implement tools to simulate the structural dynamics of the drive trains. Your mission is to test and validate artificial intelligence (AI) methods in the form of metamodels. Program and implement new functionalities in the existing simulation workflow. These challenges include: Introduction to the CAE NVH Powertrain Simulation Models handling large simulation data volumes, as well as evaluation by statistics and machine learning Selection and implementation of suitable AI methods and frameworks for implementing powertrain metamodels Programming of codes in various programming languages Documentation and presentation of solutions and results The activity can begin from mid-March 2026.

Course in the field of artificial intelligence, simulation technology, aerospace technology, vehicle engineering, mechanical engineering or comparable Knowledge and experience in artificial intelligence, such as AI architectures, machine learning, deep learning and data management Extensive knowledge of how to use programming languages such as Python, Java Knowledge of how to use CAE software such as Nastran, Abaqus, OptiStuct are beneficial Basic knowledge of NVH, vibration technology or machine dynamics are desirable Secure handling of MS-Office and Linux Secure knowledge of German and English in word and writing Commitment and team skills Self-employed and communicative work Analytical thinking Readiness to learn Success and perseverance Please note that your internship at this site must have a prescribed mandatory share.
