The Staatsbibliothek Bamberg serves as a scientific regional library of intellectual and cultural scientific expression of the literature supply of city and region.   • Participation in the acquisition department (inventory of new acquisitions)
  • Working with development and digitization projects
  • occasional collaboration at events outside regular opening hours

Your qualification:

  • successfully completed training for media and information services specialist or
  • Official/administrative of the 2nd level of qualification of the vocational training and science course, specialized library (formerly medium library service) or
  • at least one-year professional experience in a scientific library

DARÜBER HINAUS VERFUL:

  • Knowledge in the handling of library systems, ideally with Alma and Aleph 500
  • desirable: Regulatory knowledge in RDA
  • Openness for dealing with library old and special stocks
  • willingness to participate in the regular service in the early morning (from 7:00 a.m.) and in afternoons (until 17:30 p.m.) as well as regular takeover of shifts on Saturdays
  • good IT skills, especially routined handling of Microsoft Office applications and good technical understanding
  • very good expressability of the German language in word and writing (at least C2 level) as well as reading competence in English

  • Loadability, high performance and flexibility for different tasks
