In the Future Electric Drive (RD/XIE) department, we are responsible for the development of future electric drives. In the Team System Specification at the Sindelfingen and Untertürkheim site, we investigate promising technologies in the field of electrical machines and wireless energy transmission. The work student activity to be filled allows you to work in a future field and actively shape and advance it with your own innovative ideas. These challenges include: Dive into the world of electric machines and work on innovative concepts for exciting electrically excited synchronous machines (EESM) Develop and optimize systems for contactless/wireless power transmission (WPT) to enable efficient and robust excitation of the machine without slip rings Designing and analysing power electronic circuits that are crucial for the excitation, regulation and energy transmission of the machines Conduct electromagnetic simulations (e.g. with FEM tools) to precisely predict magnetic fields, losses and efficiency and to improve constructions The activity can begin from September 2026.

Degree course in engineering or natural sciences: electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, vehicle engineering, physics, data science or comparable training Secure knowledge of German and English in word and writing Safe handling of MS-Office, Matlab and/or Python First experiences with simulation tools such as PLECS, JMAG, Ansys Maxwell, etc. Commitment and team skills High self-motivation and self-organisation Analytical thinking and strategic working Additional information: We are looking forward to your online application with CV, lettering, certificates, current enrollment certificate, giving the semester and proof of the regular study period.
