You learn how processes are analyzed, optimized and digitized, how specialist procedures are introduced and how modern administrations strategically control their IT. By changing theory to HSPV NRW and practice in KRZN, you can apply your knowledge directly and work with real digitalization projects.

Design the future of digital administration with us! The administrative informatics course offers you a unique combination of administrative knowledge, IT management and digitalization competence. You get to know the processes of public administration, work with legal foundations, organization, processes and political-economic relationships. At the same time, you will receive a well-founded IT training – but not a classic computer science study, but a practical qualification for digital administration. You are dealing with topics such as process analysis, data management, information security, IT architectures, specialist procedures and e-government. You work on real digitalization projects, develop solutions for local and district administrations and learn how to plan, manage and implement IT projects successfully. The dual study combines theoretical phases at the NRW School of Police and Public Administration in Cologne with practical phases in the KRZN. This allows you to apply, deepen and experience the content from your studies directly in practice, how digitalization really works in authorities. After your completion, you are an expert/expert for digital administration – qualified for tasks such as IT project management, process digitization, introduction of specialist procedures, IT coordination, data management or E‐Government implementation. You are perfectly prepared to actively shape the future of public administration.

The main facts A degree is required by the professional qualification or the general university qualification and very good German skills. German nationality or that of another Member State of the EU is required for the employment in the civil service. You bring great interest in information technology, laws and administrative processes, see your strengths in logical thinking and have fun in mathematics. You start with a varied introduction week full of information, interaction and practice. You will not only learn technical and methodological basics, but also how to achieve a healthy start of training. Thanks to our proven sponsorship system, you will be accompanied from the start – for a strong entry into the team and your dual study. The duration of the dual study is 3 years (6 semesters). You will complete your studies at the College of Police and Public Administration (HSPV) NRW at the Cologne site. You can spend the study-free time at KRZN in Kamp-Lintfort. In addition, you will spend a period of practice with a self-elected authority (e.g. a local authority or municipality) or even abroad. For your trips to the HSPV you will receive a kilometer package of €0.35 per km from the KRZN. Attractive training allowance (insufficiency) from the first day: remuneration for candidates of 1.615.68 € You enjoy not only 30 days a year, but you also have free in the practical stages of Rosenmontag, Christmas and New Year's Eve.
