In your role as Masterand (m/w/d), you develop an FEM-based simulation methodology for analysis of steel components during the enamelling burning process Their focus is on the investigation of thermal expansion, contraction, deformation and high-temperature creep of steel under realistic process conditions By analyzing transient heating and cooling processes, you identify relevant temperature gradients and their influence on component behavior Together with the departments, you take into account temperature-dependent material properties and transfer them into loadable simulation models. Your results help to detect critical process conditions that can lead to distortion, bulging or quality defects early on Based on your analyses, you will guide specific recommendations for action to optimize the enamelling process and improve product quality.

Qualification: You are studying mechanical engineering, engineering, or a comparable technical degree and want to perform your master thesis in an industrial environment Know-how: First practical experience in the field of numerical simulations or FEM calculations could be gathered during your studies or through projects Skills: Funded knowledge of numerical simulation as well as good knowledge in MS Office and 3D-CAD support you in the processing of complex technical questions Language skills: You communicate safely in German and English and can document technical facts in a comprehensible manner Personality: A structured and careful way of working, a strong team spirit, and the enthusiasm for technical relationships are what distinguishes you
