Technical Staff (m⁠/⁠w⁠/⁠d) in Upstream Processing Full time, unlimited, in Freiburg i.Br.

You support the biotechnological process development (upstream processing) through the preparation, implementation and documentation of cultivation processes. You plan and carry out cell culture work in the shaker flask as well as in Benchtop (5 L) and pilot-scale bioreactors (50–500 L) – including preparation, operation, cleaning and decontamination. You work sterile with genetically modified organisms (S1/S2) and supports the generation, expansion and cryoconservation of cell banks. You take samples and document in-process analyses to monitor and optimize bioreactor processes. You are involved in the genetic and biochemical characterization of cell cultures (e.g. PCR, DNA/protein analyses, ELISA, BCA assay). You prepare attempts organizationally – from media ordering and media approach to providing work material. You work closely with adjacent areas such as QC, DSP and Cell Banking and supports quality documentation, material logistics and device operations.

A successfully completed vocational training as BTA/BioTA, a biology laboratory (m⁠/⁠w⁠/⁠d) or a comparable qualification (e.g. Bachelor Biotechnology). interest in cell culture, bioprocessing and upstream processing (USP); Experience in sterile work (S1/S2) is advantageous. Technical understanding and joy in working with bioreactors and laboratory equipment. We look forward to providing basic knowledge in molecular biological or analytical methods (e.g. PCR, DNA/protein analysis). Good user knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). A careful, structured and attentive way of working – even with parallel approaches. Flexibility, team spirit and a pronounced quality and safety awareness. Professional starters (m⁠/⁠w⁠/⁠d) are also welcome – important are motivation, willingness to learn and enjoy practical laboratory work. You will need very good German and good English skills in your daily work.
