As a (Junior) Controller Ships Operations (w⁠/⁠m⁠/⁠d), sea chefs play a responsible role in the financial control of our supervised ships. In close cooperation with the operational specialist departments on board and on land, you contribute to making financial processes transparent, efficient and reliable. You analyze data, accompany the planning, check processes and actively contribute to the further development of our reporting and controlling systems – in an exciting, international and maritime working environment. This is what we expect: Participation in the creation, monitoring and management of budgets and liquidity planning support in the production of forecasts and monthly, quarterly and annual accounts; for the position as a controller independent creation and presentation of the results including concrete action recommendations Examination of vessel banks and monitoring of cash flow at ship level Control and release of customer bills as well as preparation of ship bills on a travel and monthly basis in consultation with the supervisor Support in the coordination of relevant financial data to ensure data consistency; independent responsibility for the coordination and quality assurance of financial data for the position as a controller Recording, testing and uploading of relevant data into the accounting software in consultation with the supervisor Application of various software solutions, including the “Oracle” accounting software and the “CrunchTime!” commodity management system Analysis and reporting with BI and data warehouse tools Development and optimization of existing control and reporting tools in close coordination with the management level Ensuring internal control mechanisms and compliance Interface function between departments on land and operational units on board

Take this with you: Completed commercial training or study in the business or hotel sector First practical experience in controlling environment desirable Embossed numerical understanding and analytical thinking Finded knowledge in accounting and controlling standards – for the position as a controller requirement, for junior controllers of advantage Safe handling of MS Office, especially excellent Excel skills; for controllers additionally safe handling of formulas, pivot tables and advanced data analysis tools The ability to independently develop creative solutions and use Excel as an efficient tool for optimizing controlling processes is a prerequisite for controllers, for junior controllers Self-contained, structured and detailed operation as well as pronounced organisational skills Responsibility and ability to understand complex facts Team skills, communication strength and willingness to cross-departmental cooperation High motivation and willingness to participate in project work Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing
