Factory Controller (m/f/d)

In this role you support our Thorlabs Accounting Team to make financial relationships transparent and controllable. With sound analyses, clear reporting and close cooperation with the departments, you create the basis for good decisions in an international technology environment. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Support for the annual budgeting process and the regular forecast. Creation of financial reports to summarize the performance of the work. Cost management: monitoring of production costs (personnel, overhead costs, material). performing deviation analyses for identifying differences between actual and standard costs. Performance and Process Control: Systematic Analysis and Reporting of Central Key Figures such as Committee, Material Yield (Yield) and Total Plant Effectiveness (OEE). deriving recommendations for action to increase operational efficiency. Responsibility for cycle counting and physical inventory checks. management of the stock assessment and provisions for outdated or value-reduced stocks. COGS Analysis & Transparency: Detailed analysis of production costs (COGS) by direct material costs, direct labour costs and manufacturing community costs. Identification and communication of key factors for margin developments and cost deviations. Investment management (CapEx): evaluation and follow-up of investments in new machines or plant modernization, including securing the target yield (ROI). Support & control of innovation projects: allocation of budgets and reviewing the efficient use of funds across R&D

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a degree in Business Engineering with a financial focus. Professional experience: 3–5+ years of professional experience in controlling in a production or industrial environment. Technical skills: Secure handling of ERP systems (ideally D365) as well as very good Excel skills. Additional knowledge in programming and data analysis, e.g. SQL and Python, are advantageous Competences: Embossed analytical thinking, capacity for the constructive challenge of the factory management as well as excellent communication skills, in order to explain financial relationships to non-financial experts in a comprehensible manner. Languages: Very good German knowledge (C1) and good English knowledge (B2) in word and
