As a team lead, you take over the overall strategic responsibility for AI and LLM use at the DZNE. You define the long-term vision, guide the Scientific IT Systems and Software team and ensure that AI solutions are seamlessly integrated into biomedical research. This includes: Strategic leadership: Development and implementation of a roadmap for AI and LLM applications in the field of research and coordination of AI initiatives with the scientific objectives of the DZNE

Team and personnel development: Building, motivation and further development of an interdisciplinary team (MLOps/Platform Engineers, Data Engineers / RAG specialists, Security / Privacy Engineers, Product / UX / Pedagogy) with responsibility for recruiting, performance assessment and career paths

AI project management: Initiation, planning and control of projects for the introduction, integration and optimization of generic AI models (e.g. Llama 2, StableCode) as well as safeguarding FAIR and reproducibility standards

MLOps and platform engineering: Creation of scalable CI/CD pipelines, model deployment and monitoring frameworks on GPU and cloud diagnostic platforms

Security and Privacy: Implementation of data protection and security policies (GDPR, ISO 27001) for AI workflows

User experience and training: Design of explainable AI tools, development of training programs (Linux, HPC, GPU, AI frameworks) and internal training

Trend Mentoring: Observing international AI developments and deriving strategic recommendations for action for the DZNE

Higher education (or equivalent) in computer science, data science, AI or related disciplines Multiannual experience in managing technical teams, ideally in the research or HPC environment In-depth expertise in MLOps, container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, Singularity / Apptainer) and generative AI models Practical experience with data protection and security architectures Impressed communication skills in German and English as well as the ability to prepare technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders Experience in the development of training and UX concepts for AI applications
