Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD) is one of the most important medical centers in Germany and stands for the development of innovative diagnostics and therapies as well as their rapid implementation for the patient. With around 14,000 employees throughout the group in more than 50 clinical departments with more than 2,500 beds, approximately 80,000 patients are treated in full and in part-stationary terms and more than 1,000,000 patients outpatiently. The Centre for Digitization and Information Technology (ZDI) provides the support and operation of the IT of the University Hospital Heidelberg (UKHD) and its subsidiaries with approximately 220 employees, eight departments and two staff members.

By implementing and participating in pioneering projects, new and innovative technologies are being introduced into the UKHD & their daughters. This requires a continuous expansion of the range of services in the ZDI and promotes and promotes a close exchange with the clinics for the benefit of patient care.
