As a professor for practical geodesy and engineering surveying, you teach highly didactical and target group-oriented in the form of lectures, internships, seminars, excursions and project work in the Bachelor's degree programs Geodesy and Messtechnik as well as Geoinformatics and the English-speaking Master's degree program Geomatics. In addition to basic subjects, you take over the teaching and research in the field of engineering surveying and adjacent areas and make a significant contribution to the “ingenieur surveying and measuring technology”. Against the background of your profile and current trends (sensory, BIM, digitalization and AI), you can actively shape the future orientation of the courses. We are looking for a professional personality with a university degree in the field of geodesy, proof of a completed and relevant doctoral degree and multiannual experience in engineering surveying. You should have acquired well-founded expertise in one or more of the following areas: Planning, implementation, analysis and presentation of engineering geodetic projects Classical and modern methods of engineering geodesy in construction and industry Application and processing of modern 3D measurement methods, e.g. laser tracker and scanner Construction, removal and reception of upper and lower ground Application of automated measurement methods for detecting object deformations To provide students with practical projects, a strong network of regional and supra-regional partners in the surveying industry is desirable. Practical experiences as well as successes in the field of third-party funding are advantageous for your future activity. A high level of team capacity as well as active participation in the bodies of the study programme, the department and the University of Applied Sciences Neubrandenburg are expected.

The general conditions for recruitment are laid down in § 58 Landeshochschulgesetz Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (LHG M-V), whereby according to § 58 (1) No. 4c) LHG M-V special benefits in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods in a professional practice of at least five years, from which at least three years must have been carried out outside the higher education sector. The recruitment requirement for professors is according to § 58 para. 1 No 3 in addition to the general service requirements, the special ability to scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate. The professor*in shall be appointed, as long as it is appointed to the civil service, for a period of time or for a lifetime in accordance with the law of the State Staff Act (§ 61 para. 1 LHG M-V). A sample period of two years is provided to determine the pedagogical suitability.
