The future bodyholder or future bodyholder represents the subject of audiovisual media and media technologies in teaching, research and transfer. The subject of the professorship is the conception, design and production of audiovisual content in different media contexts. These include classic forms of filmic and documentary production, as well as new digital formats that are created in the context of online media, interactive platforms or transmedial narrative forms. Accordingly, the activity requires competences in the following areas: Conception of audiovisual media and storytelling. Camera-based media production, in particular technical foundations of camera, sound, light and classic post production. Innovative media production technologies, such as AI-based workflows and AI-based tools for generating and editing audiovisual content. The critically-reflected discussion of the design, ethical and legal implications of media technologies – including regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act and standards for the labelling of synthetic media contents – is an integral part of the professorship. Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences is one of the third largest universities in applied sciences in Baden-Württemberg. The further development of applied research is a recognised goal of the university. We expect you to actively participate in creative research and recruit third-party funding. Cooperations with companies in the media and creative industries and with research institutions are explicitly desired and are intended to contribute to the further development of innovative media formats. The professorship is located in the Faculty of Computer Science and Business Informatics in the Bachelor Media Informatics and in the Master of Computer Science. Accordingly, an affinity for computer science is expected and competence and commitment to the development of own priorities in the field of design research is assumed to make the faculty's profile even more attractive for students.
