Since 1962, Bavarian universities and research institutions have been relying on the IT competence of the Leibniz-Rechenzentrum of the Bavarian Academy of Sciences. We are traditionally ahead of digitization of science. Together with the regional data center Erlangen (RRZE), the LRZ processes the project BaySov. The project aims to evaluate sovereign, open source-based alternatives to commercial cloud and collaboration services to strengthen the digital independence of Bavarian universities. For collaboration at the BaySov project to strengthen digital sovereignty, we are looking for you as: System Engineer (m/w/d) Digital sovereignty & open source platforms

Cooperation at a strategically important project for the digital future of Bavarian universities Close cooperation with experts in central areas (Groupware, Collaboration, Identiy Management) Technical evaluation of collaboration and groupware systems (openDesk, grommunio etc.) as part of a market analysis and piloting Construction and operation of test and pilot environments Performance, scaling and integration tests Analysis of integration in operating landscapes (identity management, commissioning, backup, redundancy) Support in the development of operating concepts, migration paths and exit strategies Technical assessment regarding GDPR compliance, security, interoperability and user acceptance Working with workshops, exchange formats and documentation Documentation of results, operating concepts and migration paths

Successfully completed study of computer science / economic informatics or a comparable study programme Experience with Open-Source Software, Groupware, Identity Management, Souverän‐IT Knowledge of on-premise architectures and collaborative platforms Experience with Kubernetes and Containerization Experience in administration, integration or development of server services Knowledge in one or more areas: Groupware / Mail-Systeme Linux server operation / container / virtualization Identity Management (SAML, LDAP, OIDC) Interest in open source technologies and sovereign IT architectures
