Consultant for Major Donations Fundraising

The Max Planck Society for the Promotion of Science (MPG) is a self-government organization of science funded by the federal and state governments. At present, it operates 85 institutes and research institutes in Germany and abroad for basic research in science and humanities and is thus one of the leading international research institutes with numerous Nobel laureates in their ranks. The General Administration of the MPG is looking for private research funding at the next possible time for 39 hours per week Referent*in Großspenden-Fundraising (code 46/26) The MPG stands for excellent science. The aim of the fundraising at Max Planck is to actively promote private funding for additional free spaces and research projects. In a small team of donors, foundations, multipliers, sponsoring members and curatorium members, we serve private research funding. You identify potential large donors, analyze their existing relationships with MPG, clusters relevant contacts and systematically conduct new approaches. You win big donors and sponsors and serve them individually across the entire fundraising cycle. You continuously expand the large donor network and maintain existing relationships. Together with other fundraising experts, you are working on the conceptual further development of the large donation fundraising, in particular for the target group of wealthy individuals.

You have a successfully completed academic degree programme. You have several years of professional experience in fundraising and/or foundation work. In addition, you have a designated profile in the Major-Donor-Fundraising and ideally bring several years of experience both in science management and the successful acquisition of private funding for universities or scientific institutions. You are inspiring for research and scientific topics and are characterized by an analytical, structured and self-responsive way of working. You appear convincingly, have very good communication skills in word and writing, as well as a safe language and style feeling, and understand that content is represented within and outside the organization in an address-oriented manner. As an ideen-rich team player, you work performance- and service-oriented, bring enthusiasm and convince by professional ways of dealing. You bring the willingness to travel and have knowledge of German and English in a reliable manner, as well as safe handling of common office programs and database applications.

As part of an indefinite working relationship, we offer you, depending on the qualifications and professional experience, a payment up to 14 TVöD (Bund) and various social benefits. Non-binding information on salary can be found in the pay table of the public service (TVöD Bund). Their workplace is located in the centre of Munich and is easily accessible by public transport.
