The focus of this master thesis is the development and evaluation of different process chains for the integration of photovoltaic surfaces into the vehicle exterior. The aim is to identify, analyze and evaluate suitable manufacturing and application processes and with regard to technical feasibility and economic requirements. In addition, an easily applicable tool or The evaluation model will be developed with which future process chains can be evaluated on a cost-wise basis and in a comprehensible manner. We are looking for a dedicated person for a master thesis that supports us in investigating innovative process approach and demonstrating their potential for use in future vehicle generations technically and economically. Your tasks – challenging and forward-looking: Stand-of-Technology Analysis: Structured incorporation into technologies, manufacturing processes and industrial approaches to the integration of photovoltaic surfaces through literature, market and patent research
Requirements analysis: derivation and structuring of technical, geometric, functional and design requirements for photovoltaic surfaces in the vehicle exterior
Process chain development: development, structuring and comparison of possible process chains for the production and integration of photovoltaic surfaces – for example by printing, coating, lamination, forming or film processes
Define evaluation criteria: Developing an evaluation grid for the developed process chains, e.g. with regard to feasibility, quality requirements, costs, scalability and integration into existing vehicle manufacturing processes – as a basis for a later standardized and cost-side evaluation of further process chains
Concept creation and evaluation: Showing integration concepts for selected vehicle components or surface areas as well as the economic evaluation of the respective process chains
Interface work: coordination with internal departments and external partners for the classification of technological, process and component-specific boundary conditions
Modeling and tool development: visualization and description of process chains, identification of critical process steps and development of an easily applicable tool or Evaluation model for the cost-side evaluation of existing and future process chains
Experimental and conceptual validation: support in the planning, implementation and evaluation of first attempts or demonstrators to secure selected process approaches
