This makes this job interesting for me: I work at the interface between asset management and operating system management and develop concepts and assistance systems to ensure quality and improve error analysis. Against the background of a growing number of power electronic means of operation, the power of the network and the introduction of curative modes of operation, the omission of coal-fired power plants, the introduction of new technologies and the further increase in EE inputs, the system stability and thus the protection concept and the associated settings are a particular challenge. My tasks: I carry out network calculations (stationary, RMS & EMT) and evaluate the accuracy of the results in the network control system as well as the analysis of faults in the transmission network, I design specifications for future network protection facilities, I agree with the protection settings with other transmission system operators and network connection customers, I regularly ensure the quality of the protection setting parameters in the AC and DC network from the point of view of the system management, set requirements for Special Protection Schemes (SpPS) and Optimizer functionalities in the short-term range and develop the setting specifications, I develop the network security bill for converter-dominated systems, I work on the development of assistance systems as part of our control system project “Modular Control Center System (MCCS)”.

I have completed a Master's or Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Energy Engineering, I have a strong system understanding for electrical energy systems and know the protection principles in the transmission network, I have sound knowledge of the network calculation with PowerFactory, PSCAD or comparable tools, I'm going safe and versed with MS Office, I master German at least in C1 level and English at least in B2 level in word and writing. No need, but of advantage: I have basic knowledge in station automation as well as in network and communication technology, I'm sure to handle diagnostic and parameter software, including DIgSILENT StationWare, I have knowledge of power converters in terms of function, behavior and control, for example HGÜ, STATCOM or battery storage.
