Head of Application Management Unit (w/m/d) - 1621-51 Design the digital future of Baden-Württemberg. As the central IT service provider of the state administration of Baden-Württemberg, we actively drive the country's digital transformation. For our Application Management Unit, we are looking for an experienced management personality that combines strategic clarity, leadership and technological vision with visions for building a modern and automated factory setup. In this role, you take responsibility for a central unit with great efficiency and actively shape the path to a modern, powerful and secure IT landscape.

Head of Application Management Unit with 5 teams and around 40 employees Strategic and operational management of the product and service portfolio for the regional administration Leadership, development and skills of employees in a dynamic, changing environment Further development of the unit from a strategic, economic and technological perspective Responsibility for stable operation and continuous development of specialist procedures Active design of the transformation of application software in cloud architectures Contribution to the implementation of central digitization programmes Responsibility for Budget, Resources and Basic Unit Affairs Presentation of the Unit in bodies, meetings and relevant stakeholders

Completed studies at a university or an accredited master's degree from another university (qualification for higher service) e.g. the Department of Business Informatics or another suitable course of study You can also apply if you have equivalent skills and experience due to multiannual relevant activities Multiannual leadership experience, ideally managed by larger organizational units or teams Experience in managing and implementing complex IT projects, preferably in the public sector or in a comparable regulated environment Extensive understanding of entrepreneurial and economic activity You convince with strong competencies in the areas of economic and entrepreneurial action Funded knowledge in application management as well as a good understanding of modern IT architectures (e.g. cloud, containerization) and stable, automated operating models High organisational and control competence as well as structured self-management Sovereign appearance, pronounced communication and negotiation strength as well as joy in leadership and change
