As a job owner (w/m/d), you represent the field of energy and drive systems both in basic education and in deepening modules and are above average and sustainable in the research of the designated area.

For the first five years, the teaching deputy for research activities is reduced by half. Third-party funding and engagement in promoting young scientists and knowledge and technology transfer are expected. Applicants (w/m/d) should be willing to cooperate interdisciplinary with other faculties, institutes and competence centers of the university and be internationally active in implementing the strategy of the university. In the case of a positive evaluation of research-related services, an extension of the reduction of teaching deputies is planned beyond the five years. **

Your tasks

You are able to offer courses in German and English. We require the willingness to cooperate in the Institute for Power Electronic Systems (ELSYS), to conduct research and become part of the management team in the medium term.

The teaching area is closely linked to the areas of electrical machines and power electronics. Therefore, dedicated cooperation in teaching is expected in both the advertised teaching area and in adjacent specialist areas, with a clear focus on propulsive applications. As a job owner (w/m/d), you can make a meaningful addition to existing research activities and create new impulses.

The newly founded Energy Technology Promotion Centre as well as the Ohm Innovation Center with its modern measuring facilities offer extensive possibilities for application-oriented research and networking within the university. Active participation is expressly desired.

Your profile

They have well-founded scientific and practical expertise in the field of innovative regulation of energy and drive systems and provide a recognizable potential for the further development of research and teaching in this field.

In addition, you will find experiences in at least one of the following topics:

• Development of innovative control concepts, e.g. model predictive or sensorless control methods
• Application of relevant simulation programs (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS Simplorer or SimulationX)
• Planning, execution and evaluation of type and system tests on drive test benches
• design and integration of components of electrical drive trains (e.g. power electronics, electrical machines and/or mechanical components)

In addition, you have good German and English skills that enable a qualified teaching in German and English.

The ability to interdisciplinary cooperation and to actively participate in the research orientation at the Institute ELSYS is assumed. International experience in the field of appeal is of advantage.

Setting requirements

Basic requirement is a completed university degree. The special ability to scientific work is to be demonstrated by the quality of a doctorate or by an expert opinion on promotional adequate services. The pedagogical aptitude, which is usually demonstrated by experience in teaching, high-degree skills and a trial course, is expected. Special achievements in the application or development of scientific knowledge and methods must be demonstrated in at least five years of professional practice, which must be acquired after completion of university studies and which must have been carried out by at least three years outside the higher education sector. In special cases, proof of professional practice outside the higher education sector may be carried out by providing a significant proportion of professional activity in cooperation between the higher education institution and non-university professional practice over a period of at least five years.
