The LVR-Klinik Köln is a specialist hospital for psychiatry and psychotherapy with two departments for psychiatry and psychotherapy, a Department for Gerontopsychiatry, a Department of Dependence Diseases, a Department of Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotraumatology and two Departments for Forensic Psychiatry. The supply order includes about 600,000 Cologne citizens. In addition to the main location in Cologne-Merheim, there are Dependances with daily clinical and outpatient offers in three other districts on the right and left Rhine. There is a close cooperation with the LVR Institute for Supply Research, which is located spatially in the LVR-Klinik Köln. The Department of Forensic Psychiatry II comprises four stations and a large forensic aftercare ambulance. The focus is on the treatment of patients with schizophrenic psychosis without or with related addiction problems (comorbidity), with personality disorders, sexual deviances and with intelligence impairments. In the stationary area, we treat only male patients who are accommodated according to § 63 StGB. Patients and patients accommodated in accordance with Section 64 of the German Civil Code are also treated in the post-care ambulance (on long-term leave or during supervision). In addition to the delict-specific treatment, the rehabilitation and dehospitalization of patients is a core task of the department.
