Historian (m/w/d)

EXPLOSERV Fachplanung GmbH is a specialized company in the field of combatant pre-examination and clearance. To strengthen our team we are looking for a dedicated historian*in with interest in the history of the 20. Century – especially the Second World War – to support the research and documentation of historical war events.

Search in archives (digital and on site) on air attacks, bombings and other war-relevant events Research and acquisition of aerial images from various sources and archives Creation of attack chronicles to local war events as the basis for airborne evaluations. Sighting and classification of historical sources (Liteartur, Reports, Maps, Documents) Care and structured use of internal databases Close cooperation with other fields (e.g. aerial analysis, reporting) Project management as part of fixed deadlines

Complete study of history or related disciplines Knowledge of historical research and source work, in particular with archives Great interest in German history of the 20th century, especially World War II Ideally first experiences with databases Experience with GIS applications (not necessarily necessary) Experience in dealing with LaTeX for the structured creation of reports and documentation Very good computer skills (MS Word, Excel) Experience with project management software of advantage, but not necessarily necessary Secure written expressiveness Very good knowledge of German in word and writing Good knowledge of English Self-employed, structured working and high self-responsibility Loadability and good time management – also under time pressure
