Requirements management and technical advice Coordination with decision-making bodies, specialist and IT departments on new storage and backup requirements as well as technical requirement analysis and clarification Priority and advice for professional change requests Technical advice on complex requirements Design and design of storage and backup solutions Creation of backup plans according to organisational and legal requirements Development of technical backup and recovery concepts Planning and dimensioning of storage and backup systems based on requirements Implementation and configuration of the systems Implementation of backup strategy and configuration of backup jobs Encryption, access controls and authentication for backup solutions and tape libraries Leadership of basic system documentation Exemption of storage and backup systems Operation, monitoring and maintenance Monitoring, testing and testing of backups including offline backups Capacity management and adjustment of backup schedules to load peaks Maintenance of operating systems and backup software Patches for backup servers Incident and fault management Error diagnosis and fixation for backup errors including offline backups Data recovery in consultation with affected persons. completed studies (min. Bachelor / Diploma [FH]) of the discipline Computer Science or Business Informatics or in a comparable discipline or

a comparable qualification; or

equivalent skills and experience

many years of relevant professional experience (from three years)

good knowledge of German in word and writing (at least at the language level C1/C2)

informed MS-Office knowledge

Knowledge and practical experience in the fields: Knowledge of the administration and operation of storage systems (SAN, NAS, DAS)

Comprehensive experiences with backup and recovery solutions as well as the planning and implementation of data backup and recovery procedures.

Knowledge of storage technologies, RAID concepts, dedupplication, replication and snapshots.

Teamability, communication skills, self-initiative, organisational capacity and training

Screenability

The following are also desirable: Understanding network technologies (TCP/IP, VLAN, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, NFS, SMB/CIFS). Knowledge of high availability, business continuity and disaster recovery concepts. Experience in monitoring, error analysis and performance and capacity planning of storage and backup infrastructures. Knowledge of the patch, firmware and lifecycle management of storage and backup systems. Experience in handling cloud storage and cloud backup solutions. Knowledge of information security, data protection and relevant standards and best practices (e.g. ISO 27001, BSI IT basic protection). Experience in the creation of technical documentation and the application of IT service management processes (e.g. incident, change and problem management according to ITIL). Good analytical skills and a structured and solution-oriented way of working.
