Engineer (m/w/d) Conception & Development of SCADA Functions

As a transmission system operator, we secure the power supply for 11 million people – and ensure that the energy transition succeeds. The task of system operation is the safe, environmentally friendly and efficient operation of the transmission network and the control zone of TransnetBW as part of the European network. The System Management department is responsible for the operational network and system management and thus for the safety of power supply in Baden-Württemberg. In addition to operational operations, we develop the rules, concepts and solutions for the network and system management of the future and thus make a central contribution to the success of the energy transition. An essential component here is the further development of the operating concepts and IT systems for real-time control of current and future power plants, including new equipment such as battery storage, FACTS or HGÜ systems.

Our own cloud-native platform MSHIP will serve as the basis for real-time control and other operationally critical applications. These are currently being built iteratively and incrementally in our own data centers as a real-time, on-premises, self-hosted, self-run IT/OT system. They are co-responsible for the new and further development of real-time technical functions, concepts and processes of our SCADA functionality and for the definition of requirements in network control technology. As part of the MSHIP program, they work closely with operating system management engineers, IT service providers and other specialist departments and are a key link to the interconnection of expertise and IT. They develop concepts for the integration of new power plants such as HGÜ systems, battery storage, STATCOM and PST in real-time operating processes. They prepare complex technical topics address-oriented and design suitable training and training documents for the later users.

They have a master's degree in electrical engineering, energy engineering, energy informatics, physics or comparable. They bring conceptual experience, IT affinity and practical knowledge in the operational system management and/or in the SCADA field. You can adjust to different groups and understand how to communicate with the address. They show a high motivation to advance themes, as well as fun in real, self-organized teamwork. They bring knowledge of German and very good English with them.
