The Bernhard-Nocht-Institute for Tropical Medicine is the largest tropical medical research institute in Germany and the National Reference Centre for Tropical Infectious Agents, WHO Collaboration Centre and member of the Leibniz Research Foundation. The routine diagnosis of the Bernhard-Nocht-Institut für Tropenmedizin (BNITM) in Hamburg is now looking for a:n Senior Consultant (m/w/d) – EG 15 TV-AVH, in part or full time – The place is first terminated for 2 years – with the option for extension.

Medical care for diagnostics in the fields of parasitology, virology and bacteriology under the supervision of senior doctors Medical validation and finding of laboratory results Consignor:internal contact and advice Conduct and organisation of defined laboratory areas Support and further development of IT processes (including laboratory information system) Participation in monitoring, establishing and evaluating existing and new diagnostic procedures Participation in emergency diagnosis of viral hemorrhagic fever Participation in ensuring and developing the quality assurance of all laboratory processes Participation in the implementation of the IVD guidelines

Complete further education on the specialist in microbiology, virology and infection epidemiology and/or laboratory medicine German Approbation as a doctor Professional experience in a comparable area of responsibility in the laboratory of advantage, but no condition Intensified IT skills, especially in the handling of laboratory information systems, are advantageous Fun in work and interest in tropical medicine and non-automated diagnostic methods Tropical stays and/or participation in the Diplomkurs Tropenmedizin are advantageous A high level of reliability, accuracy, team spirit, organisational skills and responsibility
