The Kunstfest Weimar is the cultural highlight of the Weimar Summer. Founded in 1990 as one of the first German-German cultural initiatives after the fall of the Wall, it is today not only the largest contemporary festival in Thuringia, but also one of the most famous cultural festivals in Germany. From 21 August to 6 September 2026 invites visitors to experience international and regional positions from theatre, dance, performance, music, visual arts, literature and discourse for two and a half weeks.

The artistic director of Katharina Germo and Juliane Hahn understands the festival as a forum of contemporary art. It opens up spaces for new perspectives and participation, connects social questions with artistic experiments and at the same time creates an open, festive atmosphere.

Weimar, the public space and the Thuringian region become lively venues where artistic quality, joy of experimentation and the diversity of our present become noticeable. Surprising encounters between artists: the focus is on the audience and the city society. The Kunstfest Weimar is a place for common experience, for critical questions – and for the joy of the diversity of contemporary art.

The average weekly working time is approx. 4 hours, in the main phase from 17.08.2026 to 07.09.2026 approx. 12 hours. Remuneration takes place according to the minimum wage law and is currently €13.90 per hour. Remuneration is based on hourly records.

The work area includes the following tasks:

• Marketing activities such as flyer distribution at various events and in the pedestrian zone
• Support for individual productions during the festival period (study support under guidance)
• Support for Artist Care international artists:inside
• Up and down playgrounds
• Support and Marketing at the Festival Centre

A change of the task area is reserved.

• Interest in contemporary theatre, music and dance
• friendly and reputable appearance
• Communication joy
• Reliability and durability
• Language skills desired (especially English)
• optional prior knowledge in the technical field / Event technology
• driving licence desirable
