The area of responsibility includes the processing of road engineering issues within the framework of a research project funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, on innovative strategies for the restoration of the functionality of road infrastructures after damage events. Their own research and development work focuses on: Development and testing of reactive measures for the restoration or temporary development of road construction after disaster development of a modular action catalogue including decision-making concept for the restoration of road construction Interdisciplinary cooperation to develop comprehensive, cross-sectoral action catalogues for the (temporary) restoration of infrastructure Active monitoring of the practical implementation of selected measures in the test field and the concept of monitoring

Development of methods for the analysis and classification of detected damage to road construction Identification of suitable measurement methods for damage detection in road structures Development of (part-)automated evaluation methods for processing measurement data with the aim of classifying detected damage to road construction Interdisciplinary cooperation on cross-sector information intersection taking into account mutual influence and dependencies

Documentation of results in research reports Self­employed development of scientific publications and conference contributions and lectures on research results at scientific conferences Cooperation in national and international bodies and research associations Introducing research results into regulations and practice

You should bring this with you: Completed scientific university degree (Master or Diplom Uni/ TH) of the Department of Civil Engineering or comparable discipline This distinguishes you: Multiannual professional experience in scientific activity or in construction practice appropriate sound knowledge in the field of road construction and road maintenance (construction materials); Procedure: necessary; Machine technology: desirable) Corresponding experience with non-destructive testing (e.g. Georadar, FWD, TSD) Basic knowledge of transport technology Problem understanding of the disciplines involved in the research project (e.g. geotechnology, engineering, supply infrastructure) Good knowledge of digital tools and data analysis (GIS, BIM, digital twins) Experience in project work, in particular in collaborative projects and interdisciplinary projects Self-employment and initiative Ability to present, in particular, precise, objective and comprehensible formulation (orally and in writing) as a basis for the constitution of extensive research reports (in German) Ability to work together Time management Planning and organizational capacity Thinking and Judgment Negotiation and persuasiveness Communication and information skills Good expression in German (C1 to GER) and English (B2 to GER)
