The Kreiskrankenhaus Bergstraße is an institution of the University Hospital Heidelberg and an academic teaching hospital. With 267 beds and around 950 employees, it treats over 15,000 stationary and 35,000 outpatient patients each year. The house has the areas of general and visual surgery with a section of plastic surgery, vascular surgery, internal medicine I and II with a section of geriatric, neurology, gynecology and birth aid, as well as orthopaedics and trauma surgery with a section for spinal surgery. The offer is supplemented by anaesthesia and intensive medicine.
