Functional Safety Manager (f/m/d)

In your role as Functional Safety Manager (w/m/d) in projects (FSMiP), you are instrumental in ensuring that Siemens and its partners deliver safe and high-quality automation solutions for the process industry. As an independent expert, you will ensure full compliance with the rules and standards of functional safety according to IEC 61511 in all phases of the project in modernization and greenfield projects (new plants). You work closely with the project teams.

In addition, you are an active member of our Functional Safety Community. As a recognized expert, you proactively share your knowledge and experience to shape and continuously improve our processes of functional safety for the future.

Change the world of tomorrow:

• Customer and project consulting: You are the central contact for end customers and plant builders in all aspects of functional safety and clarify requirements and concepts.
• Safety Management Implementation: You implement and establish the Siemens Functional Safety Management System in IEC 61511.
• Document creation: You first and check standard documents such as the Project Safety Plan, Safety Specifications (SRS) and Management-of-Change(MoC) procedures.
• Design of security features: You plan and place security functions (SIF-Typicals: Sensor – Logic part – actuator) and specify the required sensor technology and actuators.
• Test planning and creation: You develop comprehensive test documents for the entire safety life cycle (e.g. FAT, SAT, Proof Tests).
• Project support and monitoring: You support the project organization in all aspects of functional safety, monitor and track all relevant activities.
• Quality assurance: You check the relevant safety-lifecycle (SLC) phases as well as the work of subcontractors and service providers with regard to compliance with safety standards.
• Personal qualification: You will ensure the qualification of the personnel deployed in the project with regard to functional safety and, if necessary, initiate training measures.
• Process optimization: You decide on the application and integration of updated processes and templates that have been adapted by the FSM team in the ongoing project.

You will convince us:**

• **Education:** Successfully completed studies in engineering (e.g. electrical engineering, automation technology, energy technology or process engineering) or comparable technical training.
• **experience and knowledge:**
• Practical experience: Long-term project experience in the planning, commissioning and validation of SIS (Sensorik, Logic Solver, Aktorik) with the focus on Logic Solver in the areas of O&G, Chemistry or power plant technology you could already collect.
• Expert knowledge: Practical experience in dealing with the standards IEC 61511 and IEC 61508 as well as safety products and systems, ideally from Siemens (especially PCS 7 F-System and Safety Matrix).
• Certification: A recognised certification as Siemens Functional Safety Professional (SFSP) is absolutely necessary.
• Project experience: Detectable, relevant FSM activity in at least three projects with the Siemens Functional Safety Management System (according to IEC 61511), including deep involvement in functional safety in the field of process industry and process automation.
• Comprehensive experience and deep process know-how in the safety of process equipment, in particular in the field of hydrogen
• Interdisiplinary operation as a process automator with deep understanding of process engineering processes
• **Working:** Analytical thinking, pronounced communication skills, team skills, independent working and a high sense of responsibility.
• **Language knowledge:** Language knowledge of German and English in word and writing.
• **ready:** willingness to travel for project meetings or customer appointments.
