Personal and professional management of an interdisciplinary team of approx. 30 qualified employees as well as strategic further development of the department 8.5 ''Röntgenbildierung' in the department 8 ''Non-destructive testing (ZfP)'' Instruction and design of the applied and basic research of ZfP methods and the (further) development of applications for material characterization in the fields of computer tomography, X-ray refraction, self-voltage analysis (diffraction) and the Synchrotron X-ray imaging Active participation in the Head of Division 8 ''Non-destructive testing'' Active design of change processes within the department and BAM Ensuring a chance-oriented human resources development and implementation of BAM's gender equality objectives, taking into account diversity and anti-discrimination in responsibility Impulse-giving accompaniment and own recruitment of third-party research projects Design of topics for young scientists and their support as part of their research activities Participation in the further development of the topics of BAM and active support for interdisciplinary cooperation within BAM Positioning of the BAM as a departmental research facility through participation in national and international scientific networks, advisory bodies and standardisation bodies as well as, if necessary, Policy advice Expansion of existing and initiation of new cooperation with national and international partner institutions

Successful and above-average academic studies of technical engineering, physics or comparable Very well completed doctorate Multiannual independent research and scientific performance in at least one of the following areas: computer tomography, X-ray refraction, self-voltage analysis (dif fraction), synchrotron X-ray imaging – or in a related subject Leadership with multiannual experience in the human and professional management of scientific and technical work areas and interdisciplinary teams Extensive experience in the independent processing of scientific questions, successful own application of third-party funds, publication and presentation of scientific results and support for young scientists Experience in science management as well as basic knowledge and understanding of leadership relationships in larger groups of people (scientific and disciplinary leadership) Equality, diversity and anti-discrimination competence, as well as experience in the application of the relevant legal principles Conscientious mastery of German and English (here C-Level desirable) Experience in committee work, regulation and policy advice is advantageous, as is the integration into scientific networks.
